Located
on beautiful, 650 acre Portage
Lake, in Pinckney, Michigan, our facility has something for everyone.
With a summer activities season May 1 through mid October, Portage Yacht
Club (PYC) provides swimming, tennis picnicking, and 197 berths for
sail and motor boats. Our modern clubhouse facility has all the amenities
and you will enjoy a full dining menu with a delightful view of the
lake for your dining experience.
If you
are looking to race your sailboat, this is the place. Our one-design
sailboat racing is a favorite pastime of many of our members and, with
Midwest Sailing on the
premises, you have an excellent source for all your sail boating needs.

It takes
five seasons for the Club to become fully vested in an initiation fee,
at a rate of 20% per season. Should you leave your membership prior
to five seasons of use, any initiations will be returned to you on a
pro-rated basis.
2007 members
who renew in 2008 pay no initiation fee. New members, and former members
(1966-2006) who have not paid an initiation fee pay the full initiation
fee. Former members (1966-2006) who have paid an initiation fee pay
the difference between the initiation fee paid and the current initiation
fee. When converting from one membership category to another with a
higher initiation fee, only the difference must be paid. When a child
previously eligible under their family's Flag membership converts to
their own Flag membership they pay only 50% of applicable initiation
fee.
When a
new member (new or renewing) adds a berth to their membership, there
is a marina initiation fee, which is noted on the Marina Fees schedule.
If a member changes to a more expensive berth, they pay only the difference
between the current initiation fees for the new berth and the one they
are leaving.
| Locker

Each
locker is $55 per season; this includes a $10 key deposit for 1

end. |

of age): $3 (weekdays) and $5 weekends/holidays. There are no fees

| Food
Service Minimum |
To
assure a basis for quality food service, there is a annual minimum
expenditure of $30 per month for Limited members, $50 per month
for Flag and House members, and $75 for Dining members. Members
may choose to meet double the requirement ($60, $100 and $150 respectively)
for the months May through October with no requirement for November
through April. Grill, Deli, Club events and members' private events
food service, all qualify. Members that opt for the double
minimum retain restaurant privileges year around. Tax,
gratuity and service fees are not included when computing these
requirements. Space is provided on the Membership form to indicate
your preference. At the end of each of these months members are
billed any portion of the minimum that has not been met. |
Categories,
dues and initiation fees are subject to change without notice. All applicants,
including those on a waiting list, will be subject to the fees and conditions
of membership in effect at the time the membership is accepted.
